provenance: Austria
Heavy, octagonal, rifled, 15 mm cal. barrel, signed and decorated with CASPAR ZELNER in silver, adjustable rear-sight and brass foresight; beautiful, flintlock pistol, completely engraved with hunting scenes and floral motifs on dark ground; wooden full stock with engraved and partially pierced, brass mounts, the stock is partially made of horn, the patchbox cover featuring bone, horn and brass decorations. Stecher. Horn-tipped, wooden ramrod with iron cartridge-extractor. With reference to Caspar Zellner see Der Neue Stöckel, Vol. II, page 1431.
